Tarrytown Lakes Rentals

For a calmer kayaking experience, head over to Tarrytown Lakes! This is a great quiet water environment to take yourself or your family for a fun afternoon of paddling at your own pace. The Tarrytown Lakes are home to a wide variety of wildlife including ducks, herons and turtles, to name a few. This serene environment is a great place to introduce kayaking to young children or beginner kayakers who are looking for a relaxing afternoon of paddling. No experience is necessary for recreational rentals!

At Hudson River Recreation, we want you to enjoy the freedom of the open water! We offer a variety of kayaks, double kayaks, for rental.

Most of the boats in our rental fleet are Recreational Kayaks. They are stable kayaks which are easy to enter and exit. They are great for first timers and beginners, families with children, and anyone looking for a fun, stress-free kayaking experience.

We also offer light Touring Kayaks which are “Sit-Inside” style kayaks with cockpits. These boats are faster and more performance oriented, less stable, and can be more difficult to enter and exit. They are not suggested for first timers. We encourage that all first timers join us for a guided tour or introductory lesson before renting a Touring Kayak on their own.
