What better way to spend a warm summer day than out in nature? We offer hourly rentals of recreational and touring kayaks,canoes, and Stand Up Paddleboards, all embarking from the Echo Canoe & Kayak Launch located at the southern end of the Croton-Harmon station area. Both single and tandem kayaks are available! Whether you’re a first-timer or a pro, our kayak, canoe and SUP rentals are the perfect way to get out on the water and explore the Croton River watershed. No experience is necessary for recreational kayak, canoe or SUP rentals. Croton River Rentals can be 1.5 hours or 2.5 hours in duration.
All rentals must remain on the northeast side of the railroad bridge. Rentals are not permitted to paddle the Croton Bay proper. Unfortunately, low tide and low water levels have a significant impact on the paddling experience at the Croton River. Please consult local tide charts and be aware of how water level forecasts may affect your trip.
*Fishing is permitted but please bring your own equipment and purchase your New York State Fishing Licence in advance.

Before you go
Croton has many great restaurants, bars, and other attractions. Make sure to check them out before heading home! The Croton River is one of the best paddling destinations in the area, and launch does get quite busy on peak weekends and holidays. Please plan your arrival time accordingly.

KAYAK, SUP, OR HOBIE PEDAL BOARD AT YOUR OWN PACE ON PLAYLAND LAKE!
We offer single kayak, double kayak, and SUP rentals on Playland Lake (Manursing Lake). Located within the the Playland Amusement Park Complex and adjacent to Edith Read Sanctuary, this 80 acre protected lake is a great place to paddle and enjoy wildlife.
We have single and double Recreational Kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs), plus our state-of-the-art Hobie Pedalboards, available for 90-minute rentals at our Rye Town Beach location.
Recreational (“Sit-On-Top”) Kayaks are ideal for beginners and families, allowing for a simple launching and landing, as well as a fun and easy paddling experience. Safety is our primary concern, and Recreational Kayaks offer optimal safety and stability without sacrificing maneuverability.

Rye Town Park Oakland Beach is one of the best beaches on the Long Island Sound. The park has food options available, a lifeguarded swimming beach, and wonderful walking paths. The park does get quite busy on peak weekends and holidays, so please plan your arrival time accordingly. Parking fees apply at this location.

Good To Know
Croton Point Park is jam-packed with other amenities including picnic areas, a lifeguarded swimming beach, tent RV, cabin camping, playgrounds, a nature center, and walking trails. The park can get quite busy on peak weekends and holidays, so please plan your arrival time accordingly.
A CASH ONLY parking fee of $10 per car is collected by Westchester County Parks at the entrance gate. Please make sure to bring cash with you, as there are no ATMs nearby.

For a calmer kayaking experience, head over to Tarrytown Lakes! This is a great quiet water environment to take yourself or your family for a fun afternoon of paddling at your own pace. The Tarrytown Lakes are home to a wide variety of wildlife including ducks, herons and turtles, to name a few. This serene environment is a great place to introduce kayaking to young children or beginner kayakers who are looking for a relaxing afternoon of paddling. No experience is necessary for recreational rentals!

Why not make a day of your visit? Historic Main Street and the waterfront area in Tarrytown are a great stop for food, coffee, libations, and sightseeing. We are also located on a walking/bike path, giving you the option of combining one of these with your paddling trip for a full day of adventure!
This location can be tricky to find, so be sure to check the Directions Page. Parking can be limited on peak weekends and holidays — please plan accordingly.
